“Fun & Fundamentals”
“Building Community through Lacrosse”
Mission Statement:
To develop youth lacrosse in Northeast Ohio by combining strong fundamental skills with a firm understanding of positional play. Gateway’s philosophy emphasizes hard work, good sportsmanship, intensity, and fun in a well-organized, fast-paced, and positive environment.
We believe in developing individual character. On a daily basis we feature character themes such as respect, purpose, loyalty and commitment.
History
Gateway Lacrosse was founded by Gordon Glass and Tim Scheel in 2007. The first year Gateway had camps in Bainbridge, Chesterland and Rocky River.
We have since added leagues, travel teams, and clinics. This past year we had over 600 registrations in the camps, leagues and the clinics hosted by Pinnacle Sports in Medina and Twinsburg.
The summer of 2010 Gateway is also offering both a U-13 and U-15 travel team and will host a tournament.

Staff selected and trained to reflect Gateway’s philosophy: develop fundamental lacrosse skills and personal character in a relaxed, positive environment.
The staff is comprised of local college players and high school coaches.
The camp programs reflect the profile of the campers, grouping age and skill levels. We then match the appropriate staff member and design a program for that group.
Gateway works closely with local lacrosse organizations to ensure the camps, leagues, etc. match their needs and objectives.
